How Do You Use Vetiver Essential Oil?
You can use Vetiver essential oil aromatically, topically, or internally. To use it aromatically, put a drop in your hands, rub them together, place them over the nose, and take a deep breath in. You can also diffuse Vetiver. Consider making your own diffuser blend using Vetiver and one or more of the tree oils.
Topically, try applying Vetiver to your pulse points and over the heart when you need some extra soothing. Rub Vetiver on the bottoms of your feet to create a calming environment before bed or add it to your skin care routine in the morning.
To take Vetiver internally, add a drop or two to a drink like juice or tea. You can also simply put it in a veggie capsule and take the capsule with water.
Can You Put Vetiver Oil Directly on Skin?
Vetiver essential oil is a “neat” oil, which means that it can be put directly on the skin. Applied topically, Vetiver oil can promote a healthy-looking complexion and add a relaxing aroma to a soothing massage. Additionally, applying Vetiver to the skin allows you to simultaneously reap the aromatic benefits of its aroma.
If you have particularly sensitive skin and are worried about using Vetiver topically for the first time, simply dilute it with Fractionated Coconut Oil or another carrier oil to minimize any skin sensitivity.
